But we all know that this dish from the category “fast food” has a negative impact on health. In addition, it turned out not so long ago that such a “mastodon” of the restaurant business, like McDonald’s, for example, uses flavor enhancers and color stabilizers when cooking free fries. Perhaps, of course, there is nothing wrong with these chemical additives, but I would not like to once again feed myself and my family with products with these ingredients.
It is better to cook french fries on your own: at least, there will be confidence that the crispy potatoes are made from natural raw materials without adding numerous elements from the DI Mendeleev table.
In this recipe, I will tell you how to make delicious french fries at home. To help in this already not too tedious work I willmulticooker, especially since my “multi-helper” model has a special basket for frying in the arsenal.

Step-by-step recipe for cooking french fries


For convenience, we divide the recipe of cooking french fries into steps:
Step 1. We clean the potatoes and put them in cold water for a few minutes - in this way we will get rid of excess starch.

Step 2. Cut the potatoes into cubes. Try to cut the potatoes as evenly as possible, because it depends on how presentable the finished dish will look. In addition, the same-sized potato slices are evenly fried in deep fat.

Step 3. Now we will blanch the potatoes, that is, we subject them to heat treatment. To do this, we put a pot of water on the fire, and as soon as the water boils, we drop the potato slices into it for about 50 seconds. Please note: potatoes should only undergo a little heat treatment, but not cook!

Step 4.Put the potatoes on a paper towel to dry: only dry sticks of potatoes should be immersed in deep-frying, otherwise the oil will splash strongly on the sides.

Step 5. Pour the vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl. Oil, by the way, is suitable for both sunflower and olive or corn. Each of them will give the french fries their own unique taste and aroma.
We install the Multipov program, the temperature is 170 degrees and the cooking time is 22 minutes. Such a high temperature in the preparation of fries is necessary for the formation of a golden crust.
It’s great if you have a special kitchen thermometer in your house: you can use it to find out if the oil has warmed up to the right temperature. If you don’t have this kitchen assistant, it doesn’t matter. In this case, first try to send 1 potato sticks to the oil: if the oil immediately began to sizzle, and the potatoes surfaced, it is time to put the rest of the potatoes in the bowl.
Put the dried cubes into the basket for frying no more than 1-2 layers so that all the potatoes are roasted evenly. I note that I do not salt the potatoes in the frying process, because I prefer to sprinkle salt on the ready-made french fries.

Step 6.We lower the basket of potatoes in hot oil and close the multicooker lid. When opening the lid to check the readiness of the french fries, be careful: the oil is very hot and even with steam you can get a strong burn.

Step 7. When the potatoes get a recognizable golden hue, we take out the basket and let the oil drain. You can then lay out the finished french fries on a paper towel, which also absorbs excess oil.

Tip: Do not reuse vegetable oil more than 3 times.
Homemade french fries in their appearance is not inferior to the "restaurant". You need a little time to prepare it, but the result is excellent: toasted, moderately crispy, beautiful golden tones of french fries without the use of any additives will definitely delight you and your family.
You can even treat a child with such potatoes, but you need to know when to stop, because despite the lack of preservatives, it is impossible to call this dish a dietary, and all the more useful.
