High-speed train "Sapsan": scheme. Sapsan - a trip to the future
Sapsan is a high-speed electric train manufactured by Siemens. “Russian Railways” signed a contract with the company for the supply of cars that run on the route Moscow – St. Petersburg – Moscow. The electric train harmoniously combines modern technology and a comfortable landing scheme. The Sapsan is one of the first trains in Russia that has gained so much popularity among passengers.
At the moment, Russian Railways owns 16 Sapsan electric trains.
Until mid-2015, the train also operated on the route Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod-Moscow. Due to the DC differential in the area following the train could not develop high speed. The cost of the Sapsan movement along this route was not justified. It was decided to decommission trains and transfer them to the routeMoscow, Saint Petersburg.
The twin train between the two capitals is the longest in the world. Its length is about 500 m. 250 km / h is the maximum speed that the Sapsan develops. The boarding scheme is organized in such a way that passengers do not feel any discomfort.
Ticket price depends on the season, day of the week and date of ticket purchase. The lowest prices - for 45 days, the highest - just before the trip.
