I read a book about Soviet slavery.
I read the book The Road to Slavery, which was written by the economist, philosopher and Nobel Prize in economics Friedrich von Hayek. This is one of the classic works on liberalism, which proclaims the inviolability of human rights and individual freedoms. Interestingly, it was this book that greatly influenced the rejection of state regulation of the economy in the United States under Reagan - many politicians and economists of that time often referred to Hayek and it was to this work of his.
Hayek called the “classic Soviet way of economic development,” when planned regulation of the economy, centralization and collectivism intensify, “inevitably leads to totalitarianism and dictatorship. Hayek also criticizes the projects of the "utopian state" as such - "What has always turned the state into a hell on earth is man's attempts to make him an earthly paradise."
In general, a great book, I recommend it to everyone.
What are you reading now? Write in the comments, interesting.
