Exactly 74 years ago, the Tehran Conference opened, the first for the years of the Second World War, the conference of the “Big Three” - the leaders of three countries: F. D. Roosevelt (USA), W. Churchill (Great Britain) and I. V. Stalin (USSR) in Tehran on November 28 - December 1, 1943.
I dedicate this event to this photo collection.

1. The ceremony of transferring the sword of honor - the gift of King George VI of Great Britain to the citizens of Stalingrad to commemorate the heroic defense of the city.
The honorary sword (Sword of Stalingrad) was awarded on November 29, 1943 by British Prime Minister Winston Churchill Marshal of the Soviet Union Joseph Stalin in the presence of US President Franklin Roosevelt and the guard of honor at the opening ceremony of the Tehran Conference. The presentation of the sword took place at the Soviet Embassy in Tehran.

4. Sword of Stalingrad - award sword, made by special decree of King George VI of Great Britain as a sign of admiration for the courage and resilience of the defenders of Stalingrad. Stored in the Museum of the Battle of Stalingrad.

8. Member of the USSR State Council of Defense Kliment Yefremovich Voroshilov (1881–1969) holds the Stalingrad sword after the ceremony in the conference hall of the Soviet embassy during the Tehran conference.
After the ceremony, the sword was examined by US President T. Roosevelt (sitting in the center), and after that K.E. Voroshilov again received the award of King George VI of Great Britain and handed it over to an officer of the Soviet guard of honor. Left in the frame - I.S. Stalin, on the right - British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

10. The Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and the Chairman of the State Defense Committee of the USSR Joseph Stalin thanked the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill for the “Sword of Stalingrad” presented.

11. Marshal of the Soviet Union, Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and Chairman of the GKO of the USSR Joseph Stalin, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (Winston Churchill, 1874-1965) and US President Franklin D. Roosevelt (1882-1945) at a banquet during Tehran Conference. In the photo in the lower right corner on the table is a cake with candles - on November 30, 1943, in Tehran, Churchill celebrated his 69th birthday.
